Veterans Inc. of Worcester, a nonprofit organization that serves veterans and their families across New England, was awarded the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans 2015 “Outstanding Member Award.” The honor was given at the coalition’s annual conference.

The award honors achievement, commitment and dedication of financial professionals to charitable giving.
The Massachusetts Nonprofit Network honored nine nonprofit organizations with Nonprofit Excellence awards, including Southeast Asian Coalition of Central Massachusetts (SACCM) and One City, One Library (OCOL), both of Worcester. OCOL focuses on improving literacy skills. SACCM aims to assist new Southeast Asian immigrants, refugees and long-term residents become strong community contributors while maintaining their cultural identities.
The Museum of World War II in Natick received a $100,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation to develop a World War II education program for high school students.
Attorney Carol F. Barton of Shrewsbury has been selected by the Estate Preservation Law Offices to represent New England as a volunteer advisor on the American Cancer Society Nationwide Gift Planning Advisor Council.
Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts received a $7,500 grant from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation to support the It’s a Girl’s World Program., which will help girls build skills in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields, as well as teach self-esteem and financial literacy.
