The pending closure of the national arts-and-crafts retail supplier A.C. Moore will including shuttering three Central Massachusetts locations.
Stores at Lincoln Plaza in Worcester, Shoppers World in Framingham, and Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellingham will each be closed.
New Jersey-based Nicole Crafts, the parent company of A.C. Moore, announced on Monday it will close each of its more than 145 stores along the East Coast. Massachusetts has 12 A.C. Moore stores.
Michaels, another arts-and-crafts store, will assume leases for up to 40 A.C. Moore stores, the company said, though it didn't disclose which locations. Michaels has more than 1,260 stores in 49 states and Canada, including Bellingham, Hudson, Millbury and Northborough.
"Unfortunately, given the headwinds facing many retailers in today's environment, it made it very difficult for us to operate and compete on a national level," A.C. Moore CEO Anthony Piperno said in a statement.
