The former Auburn headquarters of defunct and legally troubled Solar Wolf Energy is available for lease, less than a year and a half after the renewable energy firm moved to the location.
The company’s headquarters at 771 Washington St., which it moved into from Douglas in 2021 as part of a lease-to-buy agreement, appeared entirely abandoned on June 21, as about a dozen Solar Wolf vehicles are still parked outside the building and several personal items like an outdoor grill are strewn throughout the premises.
The company announced its closure on May 11 via Facebook post after claiming troubles with its supplier SunPower of California, leaving more than 50 Yarmouth residents without fully installed solar panel systems, despite having paid.
The Massachusetts Attorney General’s office is pursuing legal action on behalf of the Yarmouth customers. The AG’s office has posted a questionnaire for people who feel they have been affected by Solar Wolf’s closure.
Solar Wolf faced legal troubles previously in 2021, being sued three times for $863,606 for failed payments.
The property, formerly a Cabot House Furniture location, and still owned by Cabot House, according to the Auburn Assessing Division.
According to the sign in front of the building, the property is being listed by Rob Robledo, senior vice president with CBRE, a Dallas real estate giant with a New England headquarters in Boston. The property is assessed by the Town of Auburn for $2,285,300.
