And speaking of customers, we’d like to extend our best wishes to 55 Pearl, the new restaurant at that address in Worcester, which has been home to two previously failed restaurants.
The new group running the place has a track record in the city that is beyond impressive: On the team are the same folks who restored what is today the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts. Paul Demoga and Ed Madaus, who resurrected the theater, are joined by William Giannopoulos and Mark Aaronson in the new restaurant venture at the historic Bull Mansion. The group is running the place as part of an agreement with the building’s owner, Frank Kirby, who recently closed his G’Vanni’s restaurant there and filed for bankruptcy.
Before G’Vanni’s the mansion was home to the short-lived TiNovo.
Demoga recently told the WBJ that the restaurant “is a piece we couldn’t let go out of business yet again.”
Downtown Worcester is in dire need of restaurants suitable for a business lunch and for fine dining before or after a show at the Hanover, Mechanics Hall or Foot-hills Theater. Perhaps more than anyone, the group running 55 Pearl recognizes that and has the determination to make it succeed.
