$75K Grant For Local Drug Abuse Agency

Spectrum Health Systems in Worcester has been awarded a $75,000 grant from MassHousing to develop 14 new units of affordable sober housing in Worcester.

The award is part of $295,000 in grants being awarded through the Center for Community Recovery Innovations Inc., a nonprofit subsidiary of MassHousing. The grants are for between $35,000 and $75,000 and are intended to either create or preserve affordable housing for recovering substance abusers.

In all, the grants are expected to create or preserve 78 units of such housing in Boston, New Bedford, Salem and Worcester.

Spectrum Health Systems is a nonprofit agency that provides substance abuse counseling.
