467K Jobs Lost, Unemployment Rate 9.5% In June

The nation's unemployment rate for June was 9.5 percent as employment declined by another 467,000, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said.

Job losses were reported across all major industry sectors, with large declines reported in manufacturing, professional and business services and construction.

Since December 2007, the number of unemployed people has increased by 7.2 million and the unemployment rate has increased by 4.6 percentage points.
