American Superconductor Corp. said it has received a $445 million order from China’s Sinoval Wind Group Co. Ltd., a wind turbine manufacturer.
The order calls for core electrical components for 1.5-megawatt turbines. The components will ship over the next 30 months and are in addition to a previous order from Sinoval that extends through early 2011.
AMSC, which is based in Devens, said it is also working with Sinoval on the development of 3 megawatt and 5 megawatt turbines.
