With a lifelong dedication to serving underprivileged communities in Massachusetts, Dr. Moses S. Dixon is the youngest and first person of color to lead the Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging as president and CEO.
The agency is a leader in connecting older adults and caregivers to elder services, serving more than 150,000 people in 61 Massachusetts communities. Since taking on the position two years ago, Dixon has been an advocate for senior citizens even before the coronavirus pandemic put that population at one of the highest risks. During the height of the pandemic, he collaborated with government and nonprofit organizations to distribute clothing, legal support, and more than $3 million for Meals on Wheels. Additionally, he is a board member of Public Guardian Services, which offers guardianship and conservatorship services. Dixon spent more than a decade working for local, state, and federal government officials, including former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) and Mass. Rep. Mary Keefe (D-Worcester). He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Howard and Clark universities, as well as a PhD in community and public affairs from SUNY Binghamton.
