Daniel Rea III, 32
Executive vice president/real estate development & business affairs The Worcester Red Sox, Worcester & Pawtucket, R.I.
Residence: Framingham
Birthplace: Sherborn
College: Harvard University
Rea is quickly becoming a well-known figure in Central Mass., as the Pawtucket Red Sox are working with the City of Worcester to build a $101-million baseball stadium in the Canal District. He has spent nearly 14 years in professional baseball, first as the archivist for the Boston Red Sox until becoming chief of staff to President & CEO Larry Lucchino in 2013. While there, he scored two World Series rings in 2007 and 2013. He got one more last year thanks to his work in supporting the team’s top minor league baseball club. When Lucchino and a group of investors purchased the team’s minor league affiliate, he brought Rea along to handle the day-to-day operations. Rea played an important role in the talks to transform Worcester's Canal District with an overall $240-million redevelopment project. The team hopes to make Polar Park a year-round entertainment venue and an economic machine beyond the 70 home games the team will play there. As Rea and Lucchino have done in Pawtucket, the team plans a robust Worcester Red Sox Foundation focusing on the needs and causes of Central Mass. – Profile written by Zachary Comeau

Where do you go from here? Right now, we’re just focused on getting to April 2021 and Opening Day of Polar Park. Then we might be able to take a breather!
