Marlborough-based 3Com Corp. says the Mexican Social Security Health Institute will use the company’s switches in a far-reaching network upgrade.
The network will connect the institute’s more-than 2,000 rural clinics, family units and regional hospitals throughout Mexico. It will be used by more than 5,000 institute employees and their clients.
The institute is the government social security agency responsible for providing health care services throughout Mexico.
The value of the contract was not disclosed. 3Com makes computer network communications hardware.
