Liora Stone studied to become a nurse, but after she and husband Peter Stone founded Precision 31 years ago, she left the healthcare field to run the business operations of the sheet-metal component manufacturer. In competing for contracts, Liora Stone goes head to head with Fortune 500 companies every day, combining her tough business attitude with a friendly approach. As the company’s unofficial chief marketing officer, she crisscrosses the country, communicating the benefits of manufacturing in Central Massachusetts.
Stone remains focused in improving the community, too, serving on the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors, the Central Mass. Advisory Board for the Center for Women & Enterprise, the Massachusetts Employer Health Coalition’s Steering Committee, the Associated Industries of Massachusetts Healthcare Committee and the Uxbridge Economic Development Committee. As one of the point people for the Blackstone Valley Education Hub, she works with regional schools to make sure the local manufacturing industry has the talented workforce it needs.
Where is the Central Mass. community headed? Steady growth with a potential for great success and being a model for the rest of the state.
A friendly face at the end of 26.2 miles: Since 2014, I have volunteered as a nurse on the medical team at the Boston Marathon.
