2014 40 Under Forty: Nicole M. Godaire

Birthplace: Worcester

Residence: Charlton

High school: Auburn High School

Colleges and degrees earned: Bachelor of science in management, Worcester State University

Career highlights: Advocating for the brain injury community is my passion. An accomplishment that I am most proud of is increasing the Head Injury Treatment Services Trust Fund from 60 percent to 100 percent during 2012 and 2013. The funding increase has made more programs and services available to survivors and caregivers.

Community involvement: I represent the organization outside normal business hours at survivor fundraisers. By attending personally as I have over the years, I have developed strong relationships with survivors and their families. My bonds within the brain injury community make it possible for me to advocate for survivors and caregivers alike.

Ultimate career goal: Increase awareness and close gaps in services for individuals in Massachusetts who live with brain injuries.

Non-relative you admire most: Arlene Korab, immediate past executive director and co-founder of the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts.

Favorite book: “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson

Hidden talents: I secretly embrace my inner Martha Stewart through entertaining. Finding the perfect theme for my guests is very rewarding.
