SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT, Fallon Community Health Plan
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Dudley
Favorite movie: "Slumdog Millionaire"
Career highlights: I have had the privilege to work at Fallon since 1999. During that time I have been fortunate to be a part of many exciting developments. In 2007, I helped lead FCHP through the implementation of the landmark Massachusetts health care reform legislation, and was instrumental in creating some of the most affordable health insurance plans offered to the uninsured in Massachusetts. Prior to coming to FCHP, I worked for Glatfelter Insurance Group, in York, Pa.
Community involvement: There are 26 million people living in the United States with diabetes. One of those people happens to be my husband Mike. Since 1996, when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, it has touched our life on a daily basis; the American Diabetes Association is a cause that is near to my heart.
Biggest success: My family has always been and will always be my best accomplishment. Professionally, my biggest success and contribution has been introducing solutions that support our strong mission and values of making our communities healthy.
Biggest challenge: One of the most challenging aspects of my field is offering high quality, comprehensive insurance products that are affordable. It is critically important to offer the right care at the right place to help manage the quality and cost of the care provided for our members, and that is where my team comes into play.
Mentors: If I had to name just one, it would be Beth Helenius. She was recognized several years ago as a 40 Under 40 recipient and it is very humbling for me to follow in her footsteps. She exhibits many of the most important characteristics of a leader with enthusiasm, hard work and drive, all with a delicate balance of maintaining personal character, integrity and genuine compassion for people.
Hidden talent: Ich spreche Deutsch (I speak German).
