Career highlights: I'm most proud of following in my father's footsteps into the industry of real estate appraising, and later purchasing the company we worked at together. Also, being invited back to my alma mater (Nichols College) to speak to students about what it takes to succeed in business.

Community involvement: I serve on my town's zoning board of appeals. I am also chairman of the golf committee for the Boy Scouts of America's Mohegan Council (and have served in the same capacity of golf committee chairman for other tournaments as well), and frequently speak at community business forums.

Biggest success: Without a doubt, my two beautiful daughters. They have changed my life in a way that I never knew possible. They provide me with motivation, encouragement and love, and I am blessed beyond words to have them in my life.

Biggest challenge: I lost my dad when I was 25, and my mom when I was 31. My dad never met my girls, and didn't get to see me buy the company where we worked together. And although my mom was able to experience being a grandmother, her time, as well, was cut far too short. This challenge has helped to define me as both a husband and a father in a very moving and positive way.

Mentors: Both of my parents, but especially my mom. I have yet to meet anyone in my life that even comes close to having her passion for life and family. Even after being diagnosed with a terminal form of Lupus, she lived every day with such a sense of purpose and commitment, that anyone who called her a friend also called her an inspiration.

Hidden talent: The ability to accurately hit a golf ball 200 yards “Happy Gilmore” style!
