DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS & PROMOTIONS, Bay Path College
Company location: Sturbridge
Residence: Sturbridge
Favorite movie: "Princess Bride"
Career highlights: With over 10 years of marketing experience, I began looking for a position that would offer new challenges. My current position has been very fulfilling on multiple levels. I'm able to capitalize on my marketing expertise while working with adults to assist them in furthering their education.
Community involvement: I began volunteering at Norwood Hospital when I was 14, and after that I always found somewhere in the community where I could help out. As an adult, I continue to volunteer my time to the two groups whom I feel I can provide the most support — children and women. As a lifetime Girl Scout, I continue to be involved with the organization, currently as a Daisy leader. I support women's organizations by sitting on the board for Women In Business, and also by being a referring agent and volunteer for Worcester Dress for Success. Community involvement has always been very important to me.
Biggest success: I believe my biggest success is showing that a woman can be successful. I have a career, family and still find ways to give back to the community. It is one thing to be proud of that, but I have been able to take it one step further and educate others on how to accomplish the same.
Biggest challenge: Trying to find a work-life balance. In today's technology-advanced world, it is difficult to separate responsibilities. I always feel the need to be constantly checking my email when at home.
Mentors: My family has always been a constant group of mentors in my life. My mother has taught me to be a strong, independent woman. My father has always been an example of a hard worker. My three older brothers have taught me about dedication and ambition, while my younger sister is continually showing me how to be compassionate.
Hidden talent: I am excellent at counted cross-stitch.
