OWNER/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, Faucher School of Dance
Company location: Auburn
Residence: Paxton
Favorite movies: "Footloose," "Dirty Dancing"
Career highlights: It is quite a struggle and journey to create, develop and flourish in such a competitive market of dance schools. We have been recognized as “Best of Auburn” in dance instruction for two consecutive years. I've watched students become college dance majors, scholarship winners, title winners and much more. But my best highlights include the look on a student's face when they finally achieve a step they have been struggling with.
Community involvement: I am the creator and director of the biennial “Dance to Make a Difference” performance that benefits Why Me/Sherry's House of Worcester. It's an event where my own dancers, other local dance schools and teams, as well as professional companies from Boston and New York City come together for a non-competitive night of dance to help raise money for a wonderful organization.
Biggest success: My biggest success would be my most recent move in August 2011. My studio's enrollment and demand had grown so much in only two years that I needed to find a bigger facility. It was an amazing experience to watch my best friends and family, students and their parents, and my husband working so diligently to ensure the studio would open its doors on time.
Biggest challenge: I dove headfirst into this competitive market back in 2005 before I had even graduated from college, with zero clients and empty pockets. It has been a wonderful, educational, yet challenging experience and journey over the years and I learn something new each and every day.
Mentors: My greatest mentors are my mother, my husband, and my family and friends. Any time I wanted to throw in the towel they've stopped me and pushed me to keep going.
Hidden talent: Balancing personal life and business life in such a way that keeps me very happy and appreciative.
