OWNER, Jacqueline Jase Face & Body Center LLC
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Worcester
Favorite movie: "Saturday Night Fever"
Career highlights: After receiving my undergraduate degree from Boston University, I gained valuable work experience with companies in New York and Los Angeles such as Nielsen Media Research and Fox Family Worldwide. In 2002, I left the corporate world and attended graduate school at Northeastern University and aesthetics school. After completing these programs in 2004, I was able to work in marketing and brand management for such companies as Bayer HealthCare, Kimberly-Clark and Yankee Candle. In 2009, I decided to start my own business.
Community involvement: I owe a great deal to the support and guidance I have received from the Center for Women & Enterprise. I started out as a client working on my business plan and have now been able to give back and work with other women to help them achieve their dreams. I am involved with the YWCA of Central Massachusetts as part of their public policy and nominating committees. I really enjoy the time that I spend providing chair massage to veterans at Veterans Inc.
Biggest success: Following my childhood dream and opening a spa. I am fortunate enough that I am able to do this everyday! It is a great feeling to achieve what you only imagined was possible. It means even more to be able to do this in a struggling economy.
Biggest challenge: Following my dream and opening a spa, like anything that is worth doing, is never easy.
Mentors: My mother has been the biggest influence on my life. She instilled a love of learning, an ability to stay true to myself and a belief that anything is possible. I have learned by her example about hard work and dedication to her family.
Hidden talent: I'm a runner. At the start of 2012, I was barely able to run a mile. In June, I completed the Worcester Half Marathon.
