VICE PRESIDENT, Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates Inc.
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Shrewsbury
Favorite movie: "Saving Private Ryan"
Age: 38
Career highlights: After graduating from Clark University in 1996, I worked in various sales and business development positions. In 2003 I joined Kelleher & Sadowsky as an associate. Today, I have more than $10 million in transactions and provide valuable guidance to many landlords and tenants.
Community involvement: I am a member of the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee. I have also been an active member of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce for many years. I’m a steering committee member for GEMINI, a nonprofit that offers emergency medical training and supplies to developing countries.
Biggest success: I was very proud when I earned my certified commercial investment member designation, the highest commercial real estate designation available. The qualification criteria includes completing over $9 million in commercial real estate transactions and completing six advanced real estate investment classes with a final exam.
Biggest challenge: The change in the economy has created a big challenge for my industry. In 2008 our business changed dramatically. Building sales slowed to a crawl. Businesses were not making real estate decisions; uncertainty had frozen the market. It was not business as usual. I could not sit and wait for the market to recover; I needed to adapt.
Mentor: My mother has always been an inspiration to me. She raised two children as a single mother while working as a research scientist and going to graduate school. She created an after-school program uniting the scientific community with high school students interested in science and math.
Today she is a director at UMass Medical School where she continues to grow that same program she started 20 years ago. She loves what she does and continues to make a difference helping educate many students and teachers.
Hidden talent: I can juggle.
