OWNER/SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER, Ahearn Equipment
Company location: Spencer
Residence: North Brookfield
Favorite color: It's a tossup between orange and green
Age: 30
Career highlights: I am growing and investing in the business that my family and I have worked hard to build. We as an ownership group feel that Ahearn Equipment Inc. has great growth potential in Southern New England and will continue working to expand our reach. As an entrepreneur in an ever-changing economy, I cannot accurately predict the future of our business, but we will always be ready to take advantage of opportunities that come along.
Community involvement: As a family man and business owner I find myself always wishing that I had more time to be more involved in the community. I serve as a corporator for the Worcester American Red Cross. I am a member of the Worcester County Highway Association, and the Massachusetts Cemetery Association. Additionally I have contributed time and resources to the North Brookfield Youth Athletics and the town of Spencer.
Biggest success: I am most proud of the growth that we have achieved over the past decade. In 10 years, we have added two levels of management, successfully developed a corporate brand, created a clear corporate vision, doubled our gross sales, and significantly increased our physical presence. We have grown to be one of the largest Kubota tractor dealerships in Southern New England and recently, we agreed to a dealership contract for global construction equipment manufacturer Terex.
Biggest challenge: Weathering a severe economic downturn only six months after doubling the size of our facility.
Mentors: I would have to nominate both of my parents. Both did so much to teach me how to live humbly and work hard.
Hidden talent: I am a philosopher.
