Title: HR/Operations Manager
Company: Veterans Inc.
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Winchendon
College: University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Career highlights: I serve as HR/Operations Manager for Veterans Inc. My duties range from handling personnel issues to assisting with the expansion and growth of the agency. My professional career has centered on human service organizations because my passion lies with agencies that help people.
Community involvement: I believe community involvement is crucial to the growth and vitality of any community. I live in a small town with my husband and three children. I volunteer the minimal free time that I have helping out with various events that my son’s boy scout troop is involved in, from helping run a yard sale to cooking pies for their annual Thanksgiving dinner.
Biggest professional success: My biggest success is my career path with Veterans Inc. I started as an office manager, and I have quickly risen through the ranks.
Being a parent and a career woman is always a difficult balancing act, and the fact that I have become such a key player and integral part of the organization confirms that I am doing something right!
Dream job: Narrating a televised travel show that sends me all over the world to experience other cultures. I love travelling.
Businessperson she admires most and why: I admire my best friend from high school. She is director of financial aid at a college in North Carolina, and she is also the mother of three small children. Her husband passed away several years ago, and she keeps marching forward. She is a huge inspiration, and the thought of how tough things must be for her (but you’d never know it) keeps things in perspective for me relative to my own life.
Favorite movie: A Christmas Carol. I have seen every version possible!
