Construction of Community Health Connections’ (CHC) new ACTION Health Center in Fitchburg is set to begin this week, according to Green Leaf Construction, the firm managing the project.
Leominster-based Green Leaf said in a statement the new, $1 million facility, located in the Market Basket plaza on Water Street, will include 7,400 square feet of medical, dental and behavioral health exam space.
Fitchburg-based CHC provides medical and dental care to vulnerable populations through its Accessible Comprehensive Treatment in Our Neighborhoods (ACTION) program.
“This project will enable CHC to continue its growth and expand services for underserved populations in Fitchburg and surrounding areas, and we are proud to be a part of it,” Green Leaf Project Manager Chris Ruth said in a statement.
Green Leaf expects the project will be complete in early November, said Liz Mason, director of client services for the Leominster-based construction management company.
