The Walk to Defeat ALS is a family-friendly event that brings the community together to support an important cause. It’s a positive, energizing day focused on raising awareness and funds for ALS care, research, and advocacy, while celebrating the power of community and collective impact.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is an always fatal illness that slowly takes away a person’s ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe. It impacts people of all ages and demographics, including veterans at twice the rate as others. The life expectancy after diagnosis is 2-5 years and the disease has no cure.
This walk is a way for the community to support those living with ALS and to raise awareness and critical funds for ALS care, research, and advocacy. It’s an incredibly inspiring day filled with hope, connection, and purpose.
