Quinsigamond Community College was honored with the President’s Award for Excellence in Credentialing Success for the second year in a row for the Worcester school’s respiratory care program.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester have reached a deal where QCC students will now be offered guaranteed admission to WPI upon meeting program requirements.

Three Central Massachusetts organizations and institutions have been awarded $2 million in state funds to sponsor their workforce development initiatives aimed at closing the skills gap and placing hundreds of unemployed and underemployed residents into culinary, human, and medical service positions.

Come fall, students at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester will have the opportunity to earn the institution’s new Automation Robotics Manufacturing Technology certificate, a program aimed at preparing students for entry-level positions in the growing field of mechatronics. 

Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester will now be able to upgrade to industry-standard lab equipment for its nursing assistant (CNA) certificate program and surgical technology associate degree program, as the institution has received $171,016 through the Massachusetts Skills Capital Grant Program.

Quinsigamond Community College has been awarded a $51,968 grant from the Gov. Maura Healey Administration to develop a diversity, equity, and inclusion certificate program for local higher education faculty and staff.

Employees at Bowditch & Dewey, Leominster Credit Union, and JNP Coffee are making upward moves.

The grants are part of the Training Resources And Internships Network, which is designed to address the skills development needs of long-term unemployed, underemployed, and new entrant adults in the state.

Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester has secured $9 million in state government funding over five years for its Adult Community Learning Center, which will allow for the hiring of more instructors and additional seats for approximately 140 English-language learner students.

After years of declines, enrollment picked up significantly in the fall semester for Worcester State University and both Central Massachusetts community colleges.
