According to the Yoh Index of Technology Wages, technology professionals are making an average hourly wage of $31.80.
That hourly wage is the highest average pay recorded by the Yoh Index since it began in 2001.
And the folks at Yoh expect tech wages to continue to climb.
“We expect to see steady wage growth in this sector due to today’s solid economy and emergence of new technologies…” said Jim Lanzalotto, Yoh’s vice president of strategy and marketing.
The index hit 112.24 in the first month of 2007, indicating a 5.5 percent increase in wage growth over the same period the previous year, according to Yoh.
The strong wage increases were for what Yoh calls “high impact” jobs including net developers, aerospace engineers, clinical researchers, database administrators, hardware engineers, project managers and technical consultants.
