Worcester robotics firm buys Westborough industrial site for $2.5M

The owner of a Worcester-based robotic parts and tools firm has purchased an industrial building at 62 Hopkinton Road in Westborough for $2.5 million.

An entity managed by Kevin Boenisch, founder and president of Robosource.net, purchased the site in a deal finalized on Friday, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records.

Boenisch founded the firm in 2015, according to its website. Robosource provides parts, tools, supplies, and other products for VEX Robotics teams and classroom programs. VEX Robotics are educational robotic systems used in STEM education programs, with different products designed for a variety of grade levels.

The property at 62 Hopkinton Road contains a 24,696-square-foot industrial building on 2.78 acres of land, according to real estate data firm CoStar. The single-story building was first built in 1920.

Tim Whittredge, senior vice president at NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs in Worcester, represented the buyer in this purchase.

“This transaction highlights the ongoing interest from owner-users looking to secure quality real estate in strong suburban markets,” said Whittredge. “Westborough continues to be a highly sought-after location due to its accessibility, business-friendly environment, and proximity to major highways.”

Boenisch purchased the site from an entity managed by executives at Piece by Piece Movers, a moving-and-storage company with offices in Newton and Woburn. Piece by Piece purchased the site for $1.54 million in 2022.

The site received a 2026 assessment value of $1.56 million, according to Town of Westborough property records.
