Prescott Pharmacy LTC, a Worcester long-term-care pharmacy serving nearly 20 central Massachusetts facilities, has been acquired by QualityHealth Pharmacy, the pharmacy division of Pennsylvania-based behavioral health nonprofit Devereux.
The transaction closed Aug. 26, QualityHealth announced Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Prescott, at 100 Grove St. in Worcester, provides pharmacy services to assisted living facilities, intermediate care facilities, rehabilitation programs, residential-care facilities, and group homes across the Greater Worcester region. The business will retain its employee base and continue its existing services, according to the announcement.
Those services include medication delivery, 24-hour medication-administration compliance support, emergency-medication programs, drug-utilization reviews, regulatory compliance assistance, and customer training.
Prescott was founded in September 2016 by Jason Mohaghegh with support from his father, pharmacist Hamid Mohaghegh, according to a 2017 sponsored business profile published by WBJ.
QualityHealth said it will transfer prescriptions to its system without interruption and protect patient records. The company said Prescott customers will gain access to QualityHealth’s Confident Care Model, which combines medication-management technology and operating practices intended to improve patient safety and reduce costs.
QualityHealth was founded in 2021, although Devereux has provided pharmacy services to its clients for more than 30 years.Â
QualityHealth lists additional pharmacy locations in Texas, New Jersey, and Florida. The Prescott deal gives the organization its first identified Massachusetts pharmacy operation.
