Worcester County Bar Association names new leadership

The Worcester County Bar Association has elected attorney Padraic Rafferty as its new president-elect, a position he will hold for one year before becoming the organization’s president in September 2027.

Rafferty is the clerk-magistrate at the Uxbridge District Court. Previously, he served as an assistant clerk-magistrate in the Worcester District Court; before that, he worked as a prosecutor for District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. and as a litigation attorney at the Worcester law firm of Eden Rafferty.

When Rafferty steps into the president-elect role, he will replace attorney Kanchana Fernando, who will become president on Sept. 1, the bar association announced Thursday.

Fernando is an assistant clerk magistrate in the Worcester County Juvenile Court.
