Webster First promotes Regele to chief loan officer

Bryan Regele has been promoted to senior vice president, chief loan officer at Webster First Federal Credit Union. 

Regele, who began his second stint at Webster First in 2018, has been promoted from the role of senior vice president, commercial lending. The promotion comes after Webster First led the state in commercial loans closed in 2025, according to Banker & Tradesman.

Regele will lead all lending divisions at the credit union.

“Bryan’s exceptional leadership and dedication to our members continue to uplift the standard of service at Webster First,” John Thomasian, President & CEO of Webster First, said in a Friday press release announcing the promotion. “We are grateful for his commitment and are confident that, in his new role, Bryan will help drive our lending operations to even greater achievements.”

Release replaces Talat Mufti in the chief loan officer position. Mufti having been promoted to the role of executive vice president of lending, said Lauren Conti, community relations coordinator at Webster First. Mufti first joined the credit union in 1990 as a teller at the firm’s Dudley branch, according to a March 2025 LinkedIn post from Webster First.

Regele joined Webster First in 2011 after a stint at Bank of America, according to his LinkedIn profile. He later joined Capital Bank in New York before returning to Webster First in 2018. He is a graduate of Bryant University in Rhode Island with a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing.

Webster First is the fourth-largest credit union in Central Massachusetts, according to information compiled by the WBJ Research Department, with $1.47 billion in assets and 90,304 members. It trails the largest credit union in the region, Marlborough-based Digital Federal Credit Union, along with Workers Credit Union and Hanscom Federal Credit Union, both of which are headquartered in Littleton.
