Weather Fouls BJ’s Same-Store Sales

Natick-based BJ’s Wholesale Club said its December sales increased 6.2 percent to just over $1 billion compared to December 2006.

Despite increased traffic around Christmas, same store sales for December increased by 3 percent, and were held back by severe snow storms in the Northeast, BJ’s said. The company said without the foul weather, same store sales would have increased by 4 percent.

The company said it expects this month’s same-store sales increase between 1 percent and 3 percent.
