Anything that’s done right is worth doing again — and again.
For the 15th straight year, the Worcester Business Journal presents its annual celebration of up-and-coming leaders in the Central Massachusetts business scene: our 40 Under Forty honorees.
Like the hundreds who have been previously honored, they have unique stories to tell, some of which extend beyond their work. So, this year, we injected a little more pizzazz into their profiles, which you’ll see over the next 20 pages. We changed some of the questions we posed, and we asked each honoree to submit a selfie to complement their profiles and their more formal photographs, which were taken over the last several weeks.
With that, we’re proud to present their stories here, and look forward to honoring them on Thursday, Sept. 18, at our annual 40 Under Forty awards event at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.
How we selected this year’s class
This year’s honorees were selected after a months-long call for nominations. And we received about 70 nominations this year, more than in 2013.
We then turned to this year’s panel of judges — Jeannie Hebert of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce; Marc Terry (a 2008 40 Under Forty honoree) of the Worcester law firm of Mirick O’Connell; Lisa Condit, marketing and public relations director at the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester; and John W.S. Creedon Jr., vice president at catering and equipment rental firm Creedon & Co. of Worcester, as well as owner of the Worcester Bravehearts baseball team (and also a 2008 40 Under Forty honoree) — for their feedback (You can read more about them here).
Many thanks to the judges, as well as to Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston for hosting the annual leadership breakfast with this year’s 40 Under Forty class in July.
