Candela Corp., a Wayland-based manufacturer of lasers for use in medical procedures, has announced an upgrade to its Serenity Pro system that will inhibit pain during cosmetic laser treatments.
The system uses a patented technology called pneumatic skin flattening, or PSF, to reduce contact with the laser during treatments, which reduces pain, the company said.
The PSF technology was approved by the FDA this month.
