Valley’s industrial past on display

The Blackstone River Valley’s industrial heritage will be on full display during the third annual Footsteps in History Weekend Oct. 6-8.

The event features tours of more than 100 historic sites in 24 communities along the Blackstone River between Worcester and Providence, R.I. Some of the sites are not open to the public on a regular basis, but will be for the Columbus Day weekend tour.

Along with a revealing glimpse into the region’s industrial and manufacturing heyday, the Footsteps in History event also provides tours of unique homes, farms, churches and other significant historic sites.

The event was created by the Blackstone River Valley Tourism Collaborative.
