In January the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester will begin offering courses that can be completed both in the classroom and online.
The school calls the classed “blended learning,” and all five UMass campuses will offer such classes. At the medical school, students will be able to take a post-Master’s degree nurse educators course and an OBGYN professional development training course in a “blended” manner.
The in person/online courses are being offered as the result of a $650,000 grant the university received from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in January. The grant was to help the school develop and expand access to its schools “through blended learning innovations.”
