Memphis, Tenn.-based TruGreen LandCare LLC was hit with $8,000 in penalties for stockpiling fill and landscape debris in a wetland buffer zone at its 29 Washington St. location in Westborough.
According to the state Department of Environmental Protection , TruGreen’s property was inspected upon request from the Westborough conservation commission. The DEP said TruGreen complied with orders to get the stockpiled material out of the wetland buffer and prepare a wetland restoration plan.
TruGreen paid the DEP $2,000 and spent $6,000 on a “supplemental environmental project” for the Sudbury Assabet Concord watershed community council’s outreach program.
