TJX Cos. , the Framingham-based retailer of discount clothing and home decor, reported August sales of $1.4 billion, a 7 percent increase over the same period a year ago.
Same-store sales climbed by 4 percent in August, in line with the company’s expectations.
The company recently reported a 57 percent drop in its second-quarter net income as a result of a charge related to the massive theft of customer credit card information early this year.
TJX runs TJ Maxx, Bob’s Stores, HomeGoods, Marshalls and other retail stores.
