Three-story apartment building proposed for Worcester’s Millbury Street

West Boylston-based Asmyra Construction is seeking approvals from the City of Worcester to construct a 40-unit, three-story apartment building on Millbury Street.

The proposal is for a roughly 2.5-acre site at 1103 Millbury St. purchased by Asmyra for $400,000 in April, according to City of Worcester property records.

The building would include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, with 46 parking spaces located in an enclosed area on the ground floor of the building and another 34 spaces in an outdoor parking lot, according to documents submitted to the City.

No affordable units are planned at the site, with Asmyra instead donating to the Worcester Affordable Housing Trust Fund in order to comply with the City’s Inclusionary Zoning ordinance.

The proposal received conditional approval from the Worcester Zoning Board of Appeals in December. Asmyra is now seeking approval for the project’s stormwater management plan from the Worcester Conservation Commission, with a hearing planned for the WCC’s Feb. 9 meeting.
