The important name on the diploma is the college’s

According to the results of a recent poll conducted by Accountemps, CFOs are split on the importance of accounting degrees from prestigious universities.

Survey results from more than 1,400 CFOs were split almost evenly between the 51 percent who said the prestige of an applicant’s alma mater was very important and the 49 percent who said it was not important at all.

According to Accountemps, a temporary job services firm for accountants, 38 percent said the fanciness of an applicant’s college or university was “somewhat important.”
