Survey Says Employment Flat In Early 2010

In a recent survey by Manpower Inc., 12 percent of employers said they plan to hire in the first quarter of 2010 and another 12 percent said they would decrease staffing levels.

A full 73 percent of survey respondents said they planned on making no changes to staffing levels during the quarter.

Manpower, a staffing services firm, said the overall outlook for the quarter was positive and that seeing any increase in hiring between the busy fourth quarter and the generally slow first quarter is encouraging.
