The state’s unemployment rate remained level at 9.5 percent in February, the state Office of Labor and Workforce Development reported.
The education, health services and construction sectors added jobs in February. Even with the gains, however, construction jobs were down 15 percent compared to a year earlier.
The leisure and hospitality, financial activities, and professional, scientific and business services sectors all posted small job losses last month.
There are more than 3.1 million jobs in the state, a number that increased by about 1,500 in February.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported earlier this month that the national unemployment rate also remained level in February at 9.7 percent.
