Worcester-based drug rehab clinic operator Spectrum Health Systems Inc. is expanding into Maryland.
Maryland’s Department of Citizen Services chose Spectrum to start a residential substance abuse treatment program for 48 people.
The program is expected to open in February at a long term treatment facility in Sykesville, west of Baltimore.
Spectrum operates facilities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Georgia, Arizona, Maine and Tennessee. The nonprofit’s executives said the organization “is always looking for new areas to expand.”
