Sontra Deal Leads To Echo Loss

Franklin-based Echo Therapeutics Inc., formerly Sontra Medical Corp., reported an $8.7 million net loss for the third quarter on $12,500 in revenue.

For the same quarter of 2006, the company reported a net loss of $1.4 million on revenue of $23,179.

The company said the net loss was the result of the $6.5 million merger between Sontra and Echo Therapeutics.

The company reported no product revenue for the third quarter. All of the revenue it did report is from licensing.
