Sleep drug props up Sepracor sales

Marlborough drug company Sepracor Inc. said it increased its second-quarter revenue by 5.2 percent over the second quarter of 2006, but its net income fell from $11 million to $6.1 million during the same period.

The maker of sleep drug Lunesta said its revenue for the quarter was $278.1 million, which was up from $264.4 million a year ago. The company’s pharmaceutical sales were also up to $265.7 million from $256.4 million during the second quarter of 2006.
