Marlborough-based drugmaker Sepracor, along with the University of Massachusetts, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey against Indian generic drugmaker Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.
The suit was filed on July 20. At issue is Glenmark’s application to the FDA to market a generic version of Sepracor’s allergy medication Clarinex.
A spokesman for Sepracor did not return a phone call seeking comment on the lawsuit.
For the second quarter of 2007, Sepracor reported a 44 percent drop in profits to $6.4 million. The company also recently announced that it was seeking approval to market its sleep aid Lunesta in the European Union as Lunivia.
