The state Department of Environmental Protection has fined a company that operates a semiconductor cleaning facility in Southbridge $5,000 for violations of state hazardous waste laws.
According to the DEP, SemiCon Precision Industries Inc.’s facility on Case Street in Southbridge was found in Feb. 2007 to be operating an industrial wastewater treatment system with personnel not properly licensed for the task.
DEP said the company also failed to file “toxic use” reports, failed to properly mark or label hazardous waste drums and failed to properly mark its hazardous waste accumulation area.
