Rucker Investments’ Worcester-based Off The Rails restaurant and music venue is opening a second location in Downtown Boston.
Off The Rails first opened in 2022 as a country-themed music hall and restaurant at 90 Commercial St. in Worcester. The brand’s new restaurant will be located at 25 School St., steps from Downtown Boston landmarks including King’s Chapel and the Old State House.
Off The Rails replaces Scholars American Bistro & Cocktail Lounge, which had been at that location for 15 years, according to Boston.com.
Rucker Investments purchased Scholars in late 2025 and operated the business for about six months before closing it in early May, Off The Rails Managing Partner Christopher Besaw wrote in an email to WBJ. Besaw is a minority owner of the new location.
Off The Rails Boston is expected to open later this summer, with an upgraded performance space and a redesign of the restaurant. The venue will feature live music, an Americana-inspired menu, and an atmosphere seeking to blend the cultures of Boston and Nashville, according to a Friday company announcement.
Off The Rails is exploring additional locations in new markets, Besaw said.
The latest move from Rucker Investments comes after the Beverly-based firm purchased the Pulse and CM Pride magazines earlier in May.
