UN1F1ED² Global Packaging Group, the Sutton-based packaging and container manufacturer owned by New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft, is working to develop a 450,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution site in Westminster. The site has been in the works since at least 2022, with UN1F1ED² going back to the Westminster Planning Board in February to seek a further expansion of a site plan, according to documents on the Town of Westminster’s website.Boylston-based RP Masiello will lead development of the site as construction manager, according to a Jan. 14 LinkedIn post from the firm. R.P. Masiello has delivered six new buildings for UN1F1ED² since 1998, in addition to facility expansions and other improvements.McCarty Engineering of Leominster is the engineer for the project, according to planning documents. Prior to the recent plan expansion, the project is projected to cost up to $40 million and lead to 150 new jobs. The project is expected to be completed in 2027. The property is part of the Westminster Business Park, which has the capacity to accommodate 1.57-million-square-feet of industrial floor space and is already the site of the Wachusett Animal Hospital, an MBTA Commuter Rail layover station, and two large solar fields, according to the Town’s website.Westminster residents rejected a six-year tax increment financing agreement with UN1F1ED² in November 2024 which would have seen $1.12 million taken off the property’s tax bill over the course of the agreement, according to The Gardner News.UN1F1ED² Global Packaging Group was formed in 2018 as a joint venture between The Kraft Group's Rand-Whitney Packaging and Sutton-based AGlobal Solutions. Other assets owned by The Kraft Group include the Patriots, Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place in Foxborough, the New England Revolution soccer team, and International Forest Products.
