Retirement not an option for some

Only about 34 percent of workers recently surveyed by Robert Half Management Resources said they planned to stop working entirely after retirement.

The survey said the majority of workers plan to postpone retirement by changing fields and trying something new, working as a consultant, or working fewer hours with the same company once they reach retirement age.

Half said putting of full-on retirement is the result of people living longer lives with a desire to remain mentally and physically active.
