Retail vacancies up for city, down for region

Greater Hartford retail vacancy rates are down, but the City of Hartford’s rates are up, according to KeyPoint Partners. For the Greater Hartford region, the vacancy rate at year-end was 8.9 percent, down from 9.6 percent at the same time last year, the second year in a row of decline. The City of Hartford, however, has a vacancy rate of 13.1 percent. The northwest region has the lowest vacancy rates at 5.9 percent, down from 7.8 percent last year.
