Rentschler Biopharma, which has its U.S. headquarters in Milford, has selected a 25-year veteran of contract development and manufacturing organizations as its next CEO.
Torsten Woehr will replace interim CEO Uwe Buecheler, who will return to his position as vice chairman of the supervisory board. Buecheler stepped into the role after Rentschler’s previous CEO, Benedikt von Braunmühl, announced his departure in January.
Woehr’s first day will be Aug. 1, the Germany-based company announced Wednesday.
Rentschler is a contract development and manufacturing organization, or CDMO. It works with other companies to manufacture their drugs and other products.
Woehr joins Rentschler after most recently serving as chief commercial officer of the Swiss biotechnology firm Bachem Holding AG. He has more than 25 years of experience working at various levels within CDMO companies.
