The North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce and the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. have published the “2026 Manufacturers Directory and Industrial Parks Guide for North Central Massachusetts.” The guide includes a list of active manufacturers in the region and their primary product lines, and identifies spaces where businesses can expand or relocate in the region. 2 Rhubena Street LLC, a Framingham-based entity managed by Karl and Carla Ouellette, purchased a property featuring a 3,000-square-foot industrial building at 2 Rhubena St. for $710,000 from Chemin Baba LLC, a Watertown-based entity managed by Jennifer Moore. The property was listed by Moore through her Framingham-based firm JA Moore Realty.
HOPKINTON
Blocking cannabis delivery
The Hopkinton Select Board voted 3-0 to request a waiver from the state’s Cannabis Control Commission, which would prohibit recreational cannabis deliveries to residences within Hopkinton. Under the framework of new rules signed into law by Gov. Maura Healey in April, municipalities like Hopkinton that do not allow retail marijuana establishments have the option to request a twoyear waiver to temporarily prohibit delivery. This replaced the previous rules, which required municipalities without retail cannabis stores to specifically opt-in to delivery sales. The law allows for indefinite twoyear extensions of local waivers preventing delivery sales.
SOUTHBOROUGH
New planning board chair
Lisa Braccio was elected chair of the Southborough Planning Board during its June 1 meeting. Braccio has lived in Southborough for over 20 years. She is a former member of the Southborough Select Board and a former member of the Massachusetts Municipal Association board of directors, according to her 2023 candidate statement published in the Community Advocate. Braccio replaced Meme Luttrell as chair.

WORCESTER
The Phoenix at Curtis
The Worcester Housing Authority and Boston development firm Trinity Financial celebrated the completion of Phase 1 of the redevelopment of Curtis Apartments, including the unveiling of the complex’s new name: The Phoenix at Curtis. The first phase replaced 90 aging units with 129 newly constructed affordable housing units. Upon full completion, the project will contain 527 apartments, an increase of about 155 units from the original 372-unit complex.
Duplexes near the lake
Worcester property investor Harold Avery is seeking Worcester Planning Board approval for the construction of five duplex buildings near Lake Quinsigamond at 24-28 Chequeset Road. The 10 units at the site would each contain three bedrooms and a one-car garage. The property currently consists of five undeveloped wooded lots.
